The Idea
Held is a cast-concrete hydronic bench — hot water circulated through embedded copper tubing beneath the surface you sit on. Roughly six feet long, welded steel base, closed loop held between 110–120°F. It asks nothing of you. It doesn't check your income, your housing status, or how long you plan to stay. A person sleeping outside and a CEO on a lunch break get the same warmth, at the same temperature, for as long as they need it.
The Prototype
This first bench is the working prototype behind a provisional patent — proof that public, luxury-grade radiant warmth can be delivered safely, outdoors, on a closed glycol loop with GFCI protection and a locked enclosure. The long-term goal is a simpler electric heated bench-cap that can scale into stadiums, transit stops, and public plazas.
